ROSA ROMANCE NEWS June 27, 2009: Ashlyn Barré's new web site is up and it's gorgeous. Please visit http://ashlynbarre.com. June 25, 2009: We mourn the passing of Michael Jackson. Whatever the man's personal demons, he was a brilliant artist and had a profound -- and enormous -- impact on the Entertainment business. May he rest in peace. He seems to have had little enough of it in this life. June 18, 2009: Coming soon! We are looking forward to releasing September's Gold written by Cassidy McKay. Cassidy -- who is a terrific writer -- has made the decision to separate her "sweet" romance novels from her "spicy" romance novels. So this novel will say it is written by Ashlyn Barré. This will make it easier for readers to determine which level of heat they wish to read in her romances. Very smart, Cassidy! As soon as I know our layout and cover design restraints I'll post a release date so everyone will know when they can buy it. In the meantime, here's a blurb to tempt you: David Chesney believes in ghosts. He's seen them ... and they've seen him. When a beautiful ghost begs him to help save her child, David falls back in time to the California Gold Rush, where a life was worth less than a shiny gold nugget, and tossed away even more rapidly. As he meets the woman who has intrigued him all of his life, in her lifetime, he finds that love is more precious than gold, even when her future is in his past. Can he change the future to save the woman he's fallen in love with from heartbreak? More importantly .... Should he? June 10, 2009: The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) membership has given 78% approval for a proposed new contract with the Association of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) thereby ending a year-long period where actors were working without a contract. From my POV as the employee of a production company, I must tell you that I am thrilled. SAG screwed up this Town big-time causing most projects to not be green-lit since they could pull the actors at any time and cost producers not only their shows but huge amounts of money. And all this over residuals for TV shows on the Internet ... of which there are so few I can count them on the fingers of one hand. DUH. The economy has tanked world-wide and the selfish management of the Screen Actors Guild put everyone in the business, from the actors to the dry cleaners who clean their clothes, to the below-the-line crew to ... well, to everyone connected in any way to the Entertainment Industry, out of work for nothing. Idiots! And oh good, this is only a two year contract so we get to do it all over again shortly. *snarl* Well, at least it's over for now. And my writers can hopefully get their careers back on track. *whew* May 23, 2009: I am happy to announce that we will soon be publishing several books from Cassidy McKay! She's awesome and she can really write. Please visit her web site at CassidyMcKay.com. One of Cassidy's publishers had the sad misfortune to go out of business so we are proud to have been chosen by her to republish those books and to also publish some of her new novels. Until we get these books released there are other books that Cassidy has in print which are not published by Rosa Romance but which you might wish to buy and read. They are: Welcome to Rosa Romance, Cassidy! We are thrilled to be your new publisher. :-) Thank you for trusting us with your wonderful writing. March 12, 2009: Please remember -- we are still giving away any of our eBooks that you want every Wednesday! Be sure to enter the Book-a-Day giveaway at The Romance Studio to win your choice of our eBooks!! February 5, 2009: Well, it looks like things are going to be slow around here ... the Screen Actors Guild is holding up contracts with the Producers so our writers are in limbo. I'm suspending our newsletters until SAG gets their act back together because there is no reason to send them if I don't have new books for you to read. Back to you soon ... hopefully. Thanks for your patience. January 1, 2009: Happy New Year to all. We wish you health, happiness and all the success you have in your dreams.
